Ford Warriors in Pink is enlisting a new team of Warriors in the fight against breast cancer by joining with the hit NBC reality show "The Biggest Loser" to show that the fight to get healthy and stay healthy requires the same Warrior spirit as the fight against breast cancer.

Ron Franklin was fired by ESPN on Tuesday, after allegations of sexist language directed at a female colleague came to light. Franklin, who has called college football for the network's radio affiliates since 1987, was alleged to have made the comments to reporter Jeannine Edwards during a production meeting prior to the Chick-fil-A Bowl on New Year's Eve. Franklin reportedly called Edwards "sweet baby," and when she objected, he called her "a**hole" instead.

WASHINGTON, Jan 5 (Reuters) - China is still years away from being able to field a stealth aircraft, despite the disclosure of images indicating that it appears to have a working prototype, a U.S. Navy official said on Wednesday.

The images have been posted on a number of websites and were published Wednesday on the front page of The Wall Street Journal, which said they appeared to show a Chinese J-20 stealth fighter prototype making a high-speed taxi test.

Francis Fletcher, a tenacious, dominating figure on local high school and college basketball courts in the 1980s, was found dead near his home here yesterday morning, friends said.


"He was as tough and hard-nosed guy as I've ever had," said Merv Lopes, who coached Chaminade for 12 seasons. At Chaminade, where he played from 1984 to '87, Fletcher was deployed as a center and power forward. "It didn't matter," Lopes said, "he was, maybe, 6-foot, 6 inches, but he played with so much heart it didn't matter how big the other guys were. He didn't back down from anybody."

After working on stage and in film for half a century, character actor Bill Erwin, has passed away at 96.
Bill’s son, Mike, told the Los Angeles Times that his father passed away of age-related causes at his home in Studio City, Calif. on Dec. 29.

Bill had a long career in movies, theater and television including roles on Gunsmoke, The Twilight Zone, Perry Mason, The Golden Girls, Growing Pains, Who’s the Boss? and My Name Is Earl.But his best guest appearance as a grumpy old man on Seinfeld earned him an Emmy nomination.

In the Brandon Vera vs. Thiago Silva bout last night at UFC 125, Vera wound up with a broken nose and displayed a disturbingly broken spirit. At the pre-fight press conference, Brandon “The Truth” Vera made a big deal out of how he has lost his arrogance and now gives full respect to the fighters he gets into the cage with. Unfortunately, it appeared last night that his loss of arrogance was just another way of saying he is no longer fearless.
