After working on stage and in film for half a century, character actor Bill Erwin, has passed away at 96.
Bill’s son, Mike, told the Los Angeles Times that his father passed away of age-related causes at his home in Studio City, Calif. on Dec. 29.
Bill had a long career in movies, theater and television including roles on Gunsmoke, The Twilight Zone, Perry Mason, The Golden Girls, Growing Pains, Who’s the Boss? and My Name Is Earl.But his best guest appearance as a grumpy old man on Seinfeld earned him an Emmy nomination.
